Reindeer Pom Pom Free Pattern

Hello! The Christmas season is getting close and to celebrate, I have a new pattern for ya'll! This cute little guy is quick and easy to make, plus he is super adorable. The Reindeer Pom Pom would make a cute ornament on the tree, or he can also be used as a decoration anywhere, and he would make an awesome gift!

I think yarn pom poms are super cute and I love using them on hats, blankets and scarves, but I also love to turn them into puffball gnomes, gnomettes and now a reindeer! I love decorating for the Christmas season and I think this little guy is the perfect little decoration. I plan on making several for gifts as well, don't tell!

One red yarn pom pom makes his cute nose!

I love the addition of the safety eyes!

The antlers are simple, yet adorable!

Notes

How To Make A Pom Pom (with a homemade maker and a store bought maker)

There is no video tutorial for the Reindeer Pom Pom, but my video tutorial on how to make a Puffball Gnome, is helpful in the assembly.

The Pattern

Reindeer Head

Make a yarn pom pom out of tan yarn with a store bought pom pom maker or you can make your own pom pom maker. My store bought pom pom maker is 3 3/8 " and it makes a yarn pom pom, after trimming, approximately 3.5 inches tall and wide.

Reindeer Nose

Make a pom pom out of red yarn. The pom pom maker that I used was 2.5" inches and the pom pom, after trimmed, is approximately 2.5" tall and wide. If using a store bought maker, use a long piece of yarn to tie the pom pom and do not cut it short when trimming the pom pom. This yarn end will be used to sew to the reindeer head.

Reindeer Antlers (Make 2)

with brown:
R1: ch 10, working into the back humps of the chs, put a sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, sc into the next 3 chs, ch 5, sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, sc into the next 3 chs, continuing onto the original ch, sc into the last 5 chs. =13
Cut the yarn, leaving the tail end long enough to sew to the head, and pull through the last stitch.
Weave in the other end.

Reindeer Ears (Make 2)

with tan:
R1: Make a loose slip knot or a magic circle, ch 4, put 8 tc into the loose slip knot, sl st into the loose slip knot.=8
Cut the yarn, leaving the tail end long enough to sew to the head, and pull through the last stitch.
Weave in the other end.

Assembly

Sew the nose to the head.
Sew the ears to the head.
Sew the antlers to the head.
Glue on safety eyes.

The End!
