Happy Holidays! It's that wonderful time of year when we get out our decorations, bake yummy desserts and visit friends and family. And this year I have the perfect, quick and beautiful little gift to give to those that you love! Scroll down for the free crochet pattern, Suzi's Star Snowflake, which was inspired by one of my favorite people.
If you have followed me for awhile, you will remember that my cousin Suzi inspired me to try crocheting over 10 years ago and now that she has passed away, she has inspired me to continue her tradition of crocheting snowflakes for friends and family as Christmas gifts.
Several years ago, I received a snowflake from Suzi and it was in the shape of a star. She has sent me lots of snowflakes over the years but this one has always been my favorite, but if you have followed me for awhile, you will also know that I have a personal connection to stars through my late sister, Kayla.
Last year I was too sick to make snowflakes but the year before that, I sat down with Suzi's Star Snowflake and I re-created it. Her snowflake wasn't easy for me to create but I felt like she was whispering encouragements in my ear as I tried over and over to create her beautiful snowflake. After several failed attempts, I figured it out and could feel Suzi smiling down at me and whispering, "Good job, sweet girl."
And this year, I have decided to share her snowflake with you all. I hope you all love her snowflake as much as I do.
