Crochet Basket Halloween, Holiday and Gift Update

Hello to you all! I have a fun update to one of my most popular patterns, the Purrfect Cat Basket! Scroll down for the instructions, photo tutorial and link to the free pattern.

I first created this pattern in collaboration with Mary Maxim for a crochet a long and it was a lot of fun, thank you to everyone that joined in! Since then this pattern has became one of my most viewed and downloaded patterns to date and it is still one of my favorite useful crochet decorations.

I use this basket in my living room to hold yarn on a shelf and I also use this basket in my bathroom to hold hair bows and other essentials.

Every fall, this pattern becomes more popular and after thinking about it, I realized that maybe some of you are using this basket as a trick or treat basket and if so, wouldn't it be extra Halloweeny and cute if I added an orange bow? Since, it didn't require a lot of yarn and I did not have any orange yarn, I opted to use orange foam instead, which I already had. I think it turned out purrfect and this bow is so easy to make!

I also think that if you change up the colors, this bag could be used for any holiday! A gray basket with a red bow would be purrfect for Chistmas! Or any color for a cat themed birthday party decoration! And what about a baby shower gift? Fill up this basket with diapers or other baby essentials and make the basket the appropriate color, so cute!

The Purrfect Cat Basket is a free pattern available on my blog. Click on the photo to go directly to the free pattern.

Purchase the pdf for offline and printing. This pattern PDF is only available on Ravelry. Please heart when purchasing, thank you so much!

HOW TO MAKE THE BOW

Now it's time to grab the supplies and get started! Remember to use whatever color you would like and you can change the size of the bow by changing the size of the circles. Have fun!

SIZE

2.5" long and 2" tall
Size can be changed by using smaller or larger circles.

SUPPLIES

- Hot glue and glue gun
- Foam sheet(s)
- Pencil/Pen
- Scissors
- Optional: 2 Different size round objects to trace.

THE BOW

This bow is so cute and easy to make and it could be made out of paper or felt too! Follow the directions below to make an adorable bow!

Short video on my youtube channel on how to make this fun and easy bow. Thank you for subscribing!

Step 1: Draw out the bow pieces and cut them out. One should be slightly larger than the other. I used a toilet paper roll and a small cup to trace and draw out my pieces. The larger circles are 2.25" wide and the smaller circles are 1.75" wide.

Step 2: Fold the circles in half and glue with hot glue.

Step 3: Use hot glue to glue the smaller piece onto the larger piece.

Step 4: Cut out a thin strip of foam, glue it around the middle of the bow and trim.

THE END!

Did you hear about the cat that swallowed a ball of wool?

She had mittens!

Until next time,
bye
and happy crocheting!
