1/1 RC And 1/1 LC In Tunisian Crochet

Hey ya'll! Today I have a new cable stitch to share with you all! The 1/1 RC or right cross and the 1/1 LC or left cross. These cables stitches can be used in different ways to make beautiful slanted cables. Scroll down for the video tutorial and the written pattern.

THE 1/1 RC AND 1/1 LC VIDEO TUTORIAL

TOOLS USED

YARN USED

Today I used Deluxe Bulky Superwash for this project. I love using this yarn because of the squishy texture and stitch definition it creates.

THE 1/1 RC OR RIGHT CROSS

This cable stitch uses 2 stitches.

Written Instructions

Method 1: With A Cable Stitch Holder

  • Tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch, slide this stitch off of the hook and onto the cable stitch holder and hold in back.
  • Tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch with the crochet hook.
  • Slide the stitch from the cable stitch holder to the hook and continue on.

Method 2: With A 2nd Crochet Hook

  • Drop the main hook and use the second crochet hook to make a tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch. Hold this hook in back.
  • Use the main hook to make a tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch.
  • Slide the stitch off of the second hook and onto the main hook and continue on.

THE 1/1 LC OR LEFT CROSS

This cable stitch uses 2 stitches.

Written Instructions:

Method 1: With A Cable Stitch Holder

  • First make a tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch, slide this stitch off of the hook and onto the cable stitch holder and hold in front.

Hold this hook in front.
  • Use the main hook to make a tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch.
  • Slide the stitch off of the second hook and onto the main hook and continue on.

Method 3: Cross Over

The crossover method works but the cable it produces is less pronounced. I recommend only using this method if you are not using the right cross cable in the same pattern because it will look slightly different than the right cross cable. The other two methods match it better but this method is easier and faster in my opinion and requires no extra tools or hooks.

  • Skip the next stitch and make a tunisian knit stitch into the next stitch.
  • Make a tunisian knit stitch into the skipped stitch and continue on.
