Pom Pom Christmas Tree

Hello! I love pom pom projects because they are fun, easy and either need little or no crochet/knitting experience. The project that I'm sharing with ya'll today is a Christmas tree that uses no crochet/knitting at all! The only thing you need to be able to do, is make pom poms out of yarn! I love this little tree. I think it's so cute, plus it's so easy to make! I hope ya'll love it too! Scroll down for the video tutorial and the written instructions/material list.

Pom Pom Christmas Tree

Materials

- Yarn for the tree (I use Red Heart Super Saver in green)
- Yarn for the topper (I use Caron Simply Soft Party in red)
- Battery operated Christmas lights
-Peppermint candies (or whatever you would like to decorate with)
- Small pom pom maker (2.5 inches)
- Large pom pom maker (3 3/8 inches)
- Darning needle
- Scissors
- Hot glue and glue gun
- A pot

Measurements

Depending on what weight of yarn you use, your tree could be smaller or larger.

The pot I used was approximately 4 inches tall and 4.25 inches wide.

With worsted weight yarn, these are my measurements:

Small pom pom: approximately 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches after trimming
Large pom poms: approximately 4 inches x 4 inches without trimming
Tree without the pot: approximately 7 inches x 7 inches

Directions

Make 3 large pom poms with whatever color yarn you would like the tree to be. (If you would like your tree bigger or smaller, use more or less pom poms.)

Make a small pom pom with whatever color yarn you would like the tree topper to be and trim it.

Cut off all the ties on the large pom poms except for one and thread it through a darning needle.

Sew the 3 large pom poms together in a triangle.

Trim the tree. (You can leave it as shaggy as you would like.)

Glue the tree topper to the top of the tree.

Glue the peppermint candies to the tree.

Wrap the lights around the tree and place the battery pack in the pot.

Set the tree on top of the pot.

The End!

I hope ya'll love this project! If you make your own Pom Pom Christmas Trees, I would LOVE to see! Post pictures to my facebook page, or tag me on instagram @_with_alex
