Pom Pom Christmas Light Garland

Hello! Christmas is right around the corner and these Pom Pom Christmas Lights are so cute, I love them! A couple of weeks ago I was watching a show on Netflix called Stranger Things and the Christmas lights in it gave me an idea. I have been making a lot of projects lately out of pom poms so it wasn't hard for me to come up with the pom pom Christmas lights and I think they turned out really cute, plus they are easy and fun to make!

The Christmas Light Bulbs

Open one side of the pom pom maker and take the black yarn and wrap it around the center about 40 times.

Cut the yarn. (I like to take the two ends and tie them together to get them out of the way.)

Use the main color of yarn to wrap around the pom pom maker, next to the black yarn.

Cut the yarn.

Use the main color of yarn to wrap around the pom pom maker, next to the black yarn, on the other side.

Cut the yarn and close this side of the pom pom maker.

Open the other side of the pom pom maker and wrap it with the main color of yarn.

Close the pom pom maker and cut the yarn.

Place the scissors in the gap around the pom pom maker and cut the yarn all the way around.

Cut a piece of yarn, the same color as the bulb.

Place the yarn into the gap around the pom pom maker and tie and knot it tightly.

Separate the black yarn from the main color of yarn and give the main color of yarn a trim all the way around the bottom of the black yarn.

Trim the main color of yarn into a point and round out the sides.

Trim the top of the black yarn.

Trim the main color more, if needed.

Make as many pom pom Christmas light bulbs as you would like.

The Hanger

with black yarn:
R1: Make a slip knot and leave a tail long enough to sew into the Christmas light bulb and ch 10 =10

Cut the yarn, leaving the tail long enough to sew into the Christmas light bulb and pull it through.

Take a darning needle and thread it through one of the tail ends of the Christmas light bulb and sew it through the middle of the bulb from the top, through the black yarn and down to the bottom of the bulb. Repeat with the other tail end, but make sure it comes out right next to the other tail end.

Tie the two ends together and trim to hide.

Make a slip knot and ch 30, sl st to a ch on the Christmas light bulb hanger, *ch 20, sl st to the next Christmas light bulb hanger. Repeat from the star until you have connected the last light bulb. ch 30.
