Hello! Today I have a new free crochet pattern for ya'll and I think it is absolutely perfect for summer! I designed this shawl about a year ago and it was recently featured in Happily Hooked Magazine. I'm so excited that I can finally share this pattern with ya'll! Scroll down for the free crochet pattern.
The Sunset On Fire Shawl is a crescent shaped shawl that resembles the setting sun. This shawl is light and airy, perfect for summer evenings or cool summer mornings. The peaks along the border add excitement and whimsy, and are a perfect addition to this delicate shawl.
This shawl was inspired by the setting sun, the moments just before the sun fades into the horizon and orange and reds explode in the sky. I love how the colors fade into a gradient with this Audine Wools by KnitCrate in the colorway Red Rock. It was an amazing yarn to work with and I am so pleased with how this design turned out.
I also made a red one that was gorgeous, but I barely finished it in time for a Christmas present and alas I had no time to take any pictures of it. I did use Joy DK by Loops and Threads and the red is spectacular and soft.
