Just Like You, Little Lamb Book Review

Hello! Today I have something really wonderful to share with ya'll! Melissa Dallke, the fiber artist known as Acorn Willows has published and released her very first book, "Just Like You, Little Lamb" and I am so excited to share my review of her children's book and to give away one of these beautiful books! Scroll down for more information.

Melissa's first experience with crochet was learning to make potholders with her mom. Later, about 11 years ago, she got her first spinning wheel and started spinning yarn. After learning how to spin yarn, Melissa decided she really needed to learn how to crochet and knit with it. She watched youtube videos on crocheting and knitting to learn. Her first project was a crochet turtle by Amy Gaines. Later, Melissa started designing her own amigurumi and this past Christmas she published Sammy The Snake, which she knitted an inch every day to count down to Christmas. Sammy is super cute and I loved watching him grow through the Christmas season. Besides being an indie yarn dyer and crochet/knit designer, Melissa is also a needlefelter and she weaves as well.

Melissa has always loved getting lost in illustrations and she loves reading to her children on a daily basis. As an avid reader all her life, Melissa was inspired to write her very own children's book.

"Just Like You, Little Lamb" is a children's book that follows little lamb as he grows through each season. It shows us that little children and little lambs are a lot alike. Following this cute and educational story is a knitting pattern for the lamb so that you can make a special lamb for your little ones to cuddle as you read them this book each night before they go to sleep.

This paperback book is full of beautiful, colorful drawings by Melissa too. I love the way Melissa uses her story to compare the little lamb to children. I think this is a lovely way to teach children about this sweet animal and how they are taken care of. Plus, the lamb that she designed is absolutely precious and it is so neat that the pattern is included so that parents can make their children a cute little lamb. I only wish that I could knit well enough to make one of these darling little lambs!

You can also purchase the Little Lamb knitting pattern on Etsy, plus use WITHALEX10 to get 10% off of the pattern, for a limited time only.
