Crescent Moon Free Pattern!

Hello! I've been crocheting stars everyday for #the100dayproject of #100daysofkaylasstars on Instagram. For more information about my project, click here for my post on Instagram. Last week I came up with a very easy tiny star pattern and I released a video tutorial and the free pattern.

I posted this photo, to go along with the free star pattern, on Instagram and the response was fantastic! I also got a lot of requests for the moon pattern so today I am sharing the moon pattern for free! Scroll down for the free pattern.

Notes

This pattern is worked in a spiral. Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

The Pattern

R1: Make a loose slip knot or a magic ring and ch 1. Put 8 sc into the loose slip knot. =8
Pull on the tail end to close the hole.

R2: 2sc into each stitch around. =16

R3: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next stitch. Repeat from the star around. =24

R4: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 2 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =32

R5: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 3 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =40

R6: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 4 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =48

R7: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 5 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =56

Cut the yarn, leaving the tail long enough to whip stitch the two sides together. Pull the tail end through the last stitch and knot and weave in the other tail end. Fold the moon in half and whip stitch it together. If you would like, stuff the moon with a small amount of fiberfill, half way through sewing the two sides together. Weave in the end.

The End!
