I Won Yarn From Celestial Strings!

A little over a month ago, Celestial Strings held a contest for a mystery bag of yarn and I can not believe it, but I won! I was so excited I could hardly wait.

Celestial Strings creates custom dyed, hand painted, and kettle dyed yarns. With over 20 years of experience crafting, she knows how to pick quality, soft, luxurious yarns that she dyes beautifully and sells reasonably priced. And right now through Dec. 31, 2014 you can use the code: TOKEN to get 20% off of your whole order!

I was more than a little surprised by what all Celestial Strings sent me! It was a whole package with 4 hanks of beautiful yarn and a couple of surprises!

One of the surprises was a gorgeous, colorful, size G crochet hook from KnitPicks.com. It is a very light weight, wooden hook with blues, greens, and a hint of gold. The carved details are so pretty and I really love it!

The second surprise was locking stitch markers that were also from KnitPicks.com. They are in 2 shades of pretty purples, they came in a nifty little plastic case, and I am so happy with them! I crochet amigurumi a lot so locking stitch markers really come in handy and make things so much easier.

The first hank of yarn that I pulled out of the package was the dark blue tweed with lovely specks of red and yellow. Before I even got a good look at the coloring I noticed how incredibly soft it is. I think it would be great for anything wearable and I am looking foward to working with it once I figure out what I will make from it. Whatever I decide to crochet with it will be even more special because it is a "One of a Kind" yarn.

The other hanks were a bundle of 3 mini skeins. All 3 of these are also incredibly soft and luxurious. The colorway in them look perfect and I am absolutely in love them. Two of the hanks have beautiful light purples and dark purples in them. The third hank changes from a rich teal to a dark purple. I'm having a tough time  deciding what to make from this yarn, there are so many choices and I think it would be great for a lot of them.
