Twisted Twin Cable Scarf: Free Crochet Pattern

Hello! Today I'm so excited to share that it is my day for the Furls Blog Hop! I have a new free pattern, the Twisted Twin Cable Scarf and I am obsessed by the cables in this design! And I know what you are thinking, is this knit? Absolutely not, it's tunisian crochet! Scroll down for the free crochet pattern that includes a photo tutorial and video tutorial too!

The cables in this scarf look very intricate, squishy and so so pleasing to the eye, but I promise you they aren't very hard to achieve, you just need an extra crochet hook for a little bit of help. The stitch pattern is a fun 6 row repeat and the rows fly off the hook! I loved working on my scarf while binge "watching" some of my favorite shows.

I designed this pattern with Furls Wander Acrylic yarn in the colorway mist and it made this scarf so squishy soft and cuddly. I think this will be my favorite accessory this fall and winter! I also used my beautiful Furls Cruella Deville Tunisian crochet hook and my pretty pink Odyssey hook too! Scroll down to see these beauties in action! The soft yarn combined with the smoothness of these hooks, made working this project so much more fun and relaxing! I love how lightweight the tunisian hook is!

I made my scarf 75 inches long and that makes it perfect to wear as a long scarf or even as an infinity looking scarf by wrapping it around a few times. So warm and perfect for the colder months!

AND if you love this scarf, you will love the matching headband! It's a FREE pattern on my blog! Click here for the Twisted Cable Headband/Earwarmer!

I love wearing this set together!

Notes

  • This pattern is worked best with at least a 12 inch Tunisian crochet hook or a hook with an extension cord.
  • This pattern is worked flat with the right side of the work facing.
  • Do not turn your work at the beginning of each row. Each row is worked from right to left (forward pass) and then from left to right (return pass).
  • At the beginning of each row, the first stitch is on the hook and counts as a Tunisian knit stitch.
  • The width of the scarf will decrease after R6.

  • Mark the cable rows with a stitch marker so it's easier to know what row you are on.

  • If the size G (4.00 mm) crochet hook is too small to use as the cable hook then go up a hook size until you are comfortable.
