Tunisian Market Bag Free Crochet Pattern

Hello! I think that market bags are really cool and even though I have no plans to go to any markets anytime soon, I still wanted to design a market bag that could be used for all kinds of purposes and be stylish too. I used Tunisian crochet to make this bag and I think the texture turned out so pretty! Today I'm sharing my Simple Tunisian Market Bag and you can get the pdf for FREE for 48 hours only! I designed my Simple Tunisian Market Bag for Allfreecrochet and you can find the original post here.

This Simple Tunisian Market Bag has a beautiful texture that is very simple to crochet. The strap is wide, comfy and you can make it any length you wish. I love a nice long strap on mine!

This market bag is tunisian crocheted in the round and I think it's the perfect project to learn how to do tunisian crochet in the round!

Notes and Tips

The Bag:

  • This pattern is worked in the round.

  • Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

The Strap:

  • This pattern is worked flat with the right side of the work facing.

  • At the beginning of each row, the first stitch is on the hook and counts as a tunisian knit stitch.

  • Do not turn your work at the beginning of each row. Each row is worked from right to left (forward pass) and then from left to right (return pass).
