Piper Hooded Shawl Free Crochet Pattern!

Hello! I love shawls and today I have a really neat one to share with ya'll! The Piper Hooded Shawl is my newest design, but I've actually been working on it for several years now. It's finally ready and I'm so excited to share it with ya'll!  Scroll down for the free pattern and video tutorial!

Several years ago, I was trying to come up with an idea for one of my younger sister's birthdays. She loves raindrops and leaves so I created this motif for her. First I created, Piper's Fall Scarf, and you can get that free pattern here

Then, a couple years later, I decided to turn this motif into a shawl and add a hood! It took me over a year to get this project done because I had other deadlines and projects but it was always my special little project that I would go back to when I had time to work on it.

I love the pattern repeats and think they make this project easy but fun. I also love the fact that by changing the color of yarn, the motif can resemble a rain drop or a falling leaf.

Another neat thing about this pattern is that you can wear it two ways. First, wear it like a shawl with the hood up or down. Second, turn it around and wear it like a scarf, with the hood in front giving it some extra drape and dimension. And because of the lacey fabric and that you can wear it multiple ways, I think this pattern is perfect all year long!
